The Stair of Life

The sun sets
but it's not late
as we walk along
on our unspoken date
The air is cold
but our hearts are warm
a moment goes by
a loss to be morned
for I greatly wish
that time stood still
to be with you
in midwinter chill
we walked on
a happy sight
and slowly the sun
lost all it's light
the road splits
we go our ways
a fire to be relindled
on another day

Icey rain and snow delight.
we alk as day turns to night.
the world changes before my eyes

Did I turn wrong and go astray.
will that explain my rotton day?
